Frequently Asked Questions

DO I NEED A PASSPORT?

ABSOLUTELY, positively, without a doubt! This is a change for our 2010 sailing. The new passport requirements go into effect in June of 2009. Since we sail after that date, everyone sailing WILL NEED A VALID PASSPORT. The good news is that you have plenty of time to obtain one if you don't already have one.

WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE MY RESERVATION?

Full LEGAL Name - No Nicknames, Stage Names or Clown Names. This information must match your passport (or driver's license & birth certificate). Middle names are NOT required for the reservation. (for example if your name is Robert and you go by Bob, your legal name is Robert)

Date of Birth - for all passengers under your reservation.

Dietary Needs - (bland, vegetarian, low sugar, low sodium, etc. however not all special diet needs can be met)

Special Physical Needs - (wheelchair, blind, deaf, pregnant, diabetic, etc.)

One Document Delivery Address - all cruise documents and cruise correspondence, including emails, will be delivered to the person whose name appears FIRST on the reservation.

Credit Card Information - (number, name as it appears on the card, correct billing address, etc.)

WHEN WILL MY CREDIT CARD BE CHARGED?

The deposit will be charged within a couple of days of making a reservation. Your statement will reflect a charge from The Magic of Timothy Sonefelt. A second deposit will be required by May 2, 2009, the third on Aug. 29th, 2009 and the final payment will be due by Nov. 11, 2009. By making a reservation and paying the initial deposit, you are authorizing us to apply the second and final payments to the card we have on file for you. If you wish to use a different card, you must notify us FIVE DAYS prior to the subsequent billing dates.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?

When you're onboard, nearly everything is taken care of - your accommodations, gourmet meals in the main dining room(s) and some other eateries, snacks throughout the day, midnight buffet, some beverages and 24 HR room service!.

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED?

Your cruise does not include the following: Air transportation, transfers to and from the ship, optional Shore and Land Excursions, certain beverages such as sodas, alcoholic beverages and specialty drinks, casino gaming, photographs, telephone calls, purchases from ship stores, items of a personal nature such as medical services, laundry, massages, spa treatments and some specialty fitness classes.

CAN I CHECK IN BEFORE THE CRUISE?

YES! You'll be able, and are actually need to use the online check in service on Carnival's web site. That means you won't have to fill out all the forms at the pier and the fun can begin sooner! You'll receive details about the online check in process as the departure date draws near.

CHECK IN AT THE PIER?

If you've checked in online, bring your Fun Pass and your identification documents (passport, etc.) with you to the terminal. Here you'll get assistance to finalize the check in process. If you have NOT checked in online, bring your completed forms, credit card information and all documentation to the pier. A Carnival agent will assist you with checkin.

HOW DO I PAY FOR ITEMS ONBOARD?

Cruise lines use a 'cashless' system. You'll be given a Sail & Sign card o use for all purchase you make on the ship. At the end of our trip, the balance will be billed to the credit card you used to establish your Sail & Sign account. You may also pay the balance of the account in cash or use a combination of the two.

The guest relations desk can provide you with a balance update at anytime throughout the cruise.

All charges will be automatically billed to the guest's credit card at the end of the voyage. On the final morning of the cruise, an itemized statement will be delivered to your cabin. This total amount will be billed to the card you used during your check in process (whether online or at the pier). For guests who put down a cash deposit, if there is an overpayment on your part, at the end of the cruise you will be reimbursed the difference on the final morning.

WHAT IS THE TIPPING POLICY?

Carnival has instituted a flat gratuity policy of $10 per day, per person. This includes gratuity for your wait staff, your cabin attendant and all the included meals and activities. Gratuity for other services (such as room service) are at your discretion. The level of service you receive is well worth this and the flat rate makes this very easy. Your gratuity will be added to your Sail & Sign account.

CAN I CONTACT THE OUTSIDE WORLD?

YES! You'll be able to make phone calls and check email onboard. Nominal fees apply
